One kind of eveningGuests 18+
Evenings arranged by two people, with a third for the company
A fair proportion of what reaches the switchboard is written by two people at once, usually a couple who would like company for an evening: a third at dinner, somebody to make a gallery afternoon three sided, a night out that is simply better with another voice in it.
The tariff does not change for it. One companion, one set of hours, the ordinary ladder opening at £250. What does change is that Delphine wants a line from each of you before she arranges a thing.

Why both of you are asked
Because an evening set up by one of you and then produced as a surprise for the other goes badly for all three people at the table, your companion included. The line from each of you is not a formality: it is how three adults come to be sitting down having agreed on the same evening. It takes one message, and nobody has yet regretted sending it.
03
How the evening usually runs
She generally meets you both at the restaurant rather than at a door, at the bar ten minutes before the table. The first half hour is an introduction in three directions, and she takes care that neither of you is left doing all the talking. At dinner she is company for the table as a whole, turning the conversation towards whichever of you has been quiet for a while. After the coffee there is usually a walk, and she takes her leave at the end of the hours agreed, wherever the walk has ended.
04
The usual shape of it
Dinner, most often: a long table for three where the conversation opens outward rather than closing down, and where your companion is company for both of you rather than the guest of one. Afternoons work just as well, whether that means a gallery in SW1 with supper afterwards or a film and a late table in Notting Hill. Berkeley Square and Park Lane have the larger dining rooms, where a table is easily found at short notice. A night with a curtain in the middle of it is a very good shape for three.
05
Said plainly, because it matters
The hours agreed buy her time and her company and not one thing further. That sentence carries exactly the weight here that it carries everywhere else on this site, and it is not softened by there being two of you at the table instead of one.
Nothing physical is offered, implied or arranged, with either of you or between any of the three of you. If your evening depends on something further, this is the wrong house, and Delphine will say so kindly and immediately rather than let you find out at the door.
06
The names who are easy with two
Michelle is warm and unguarded and gets a story out of anybody within the hour. Thea turns a conversation gently and notices far more than she says. Laura is genuinely interested in people and steady with it. Nancy is calm, deliberate and curious about whoever happens to be in front of her. Their pages are in the Salon.
07
What to tell Delphine
How the two of you would like to be understood: as a couple entertaining a friend, or simply as three people at dinner. The occasion, if there is one, whether an anniversary, a visit to London or a birthday one of you would rather spend in company. And anything either of you would rather not have raised. Delphine passes the whole of it to your companion before she accepts, so that nobody at the table meets a surprise.
08
The practical part
Arrange it under one name to keep the thread simple, and tell Delphine which of you she should write to on the night. Say where the table is so that your companion arrives dressed for the room. Her fee is given to her once, on arrival, by whichever of you she meets first.
09
If plans change
If one of you cannot come on the night, tell Delphine rather than simply arriving alone. The evening was agreed by two people, and she will ask the other whether it should still go ahead; often the answer is to move it to a night when you can both be there. Three hours of warning or more costs nothing, and inside two hours half the agreed figure stands, exactly as for any other booking.

Questions on this appointment
Why would a couple want company at dinner?
For the reasons anybody invites a guest. A third voice changes a conversation, an anniversary is sometimes better with somebody new at the table, and a couple visiting London often want a person who knows which rooms are worth the evening.
Does it cost more because there are two of you?
No. One companion, one set of hours, the ordinary ladder from £250. The number of hosts does not alter it.
Can we choose her together?
Please do. Send Delphine two or three names you both like from the Salon and she will say who is free on your evening.
Is anything expected of her beyond conversation?
Nothing whatever. She is booked for her time and her company, as at every appointment this house arranges, and the evening ends at the hour agreed.

Send the district and the hour
Write where you are and when you would like her. A name and an arrival window come back, and the evening is arranged from there.
Guests are 18+ without exception. A fee is for time and companionship only, and the whole tariff is on the rates page.
