Ten shapes an appointment takes, and the one tariff under all of them

An appointment here is only ever a length of time and somewhere to spend it. What alters from one page to the next is the shape: an hour behind your own door, a table held for four, a fortnight in another city. The ten below cover nearly everything Delphine is asked for, and each begins with a single message.

None of it turns on which companion you choose. One ladder serves everybody in the Salon, from £250 for the hour to £1,800 for the night, and whatever the length, the number goes into your companion's own hand at the door. The whole ladder is at rates; an hour and an address sent to booking starts any of it.

The three that cover most evenings

An evening at your address is the plainest of them and the one arranged most often: she travels, you host, and nothing of ours ever appears on your street. The long table puts a dinner in the middle of the evening, four hours at £900, which is how most guests who write a second time arrange the second one. Dinner until morning carries the same evening through to the morning at £1,800, with no other name taken on the night.

Where the register changes

The long acquaintance is less a separate service than a separate manner: fewer arrangements, more familiarity, the evening of two people who have met before rather than two being introduced. The later hours turns the night outward instead, to a curtain, a bar and the streets afterwards. Two at the table brings a second companion to the same evening, and when two of you write is the page for a couple arranging one together.

Appointments with an audience

Receptions and company dinners exists because a seating plan is not a private room, and a woman who reads a table of colleagues correctly is doing something quite particular. It is the page to read before a trade dinner in Mayfair or a reception at one of the hotels on Park Lane, and the briefing it describes takes about five lines to write.

Longer than one night

Away from London and days rather than hours both leave the day book behind. Two days or more are quoted as one sum once Delphine has the dates and the shape of them. Neither is put together in an afternoon, and both are asked for more often than people expect.

What holds true of all ten

Every appointment on this site is an adult arrangement for time and company, with nothing else offered, implied or arranged at any length or any figure, and with both parties 18 or over without exception.
