Ten women in the circle are built long and narrow, which is the frame that makes an entirely plain dress look considerably more expensive than it was. They run from 163 cm to 178.
As with every presentation here, the sorting comes from the facts printed on each page rather than from anybody's opinion of anybody.

The tallest four
Violetta is 30 and 178 cm, black hair sleek and straight, composed and formal throughout. Stacy is 22 and 176 cm, near black hair and a fast precise delivery. Karolina is 27 and 174 cm, black haired and very still. Samanta is 27 and 174 cm, dark brown worn simply and dressed with real discipline. Violetta's evenings are in Belgravia, Stacy's around the theatre on Sloane Square, Karolina's at a viewing on Bond Street, and Samanta's in Mayfair, in a room she has argued about for years.

Around 172
Vanessa, 25 and 173 cm, is sandy brown with balayage, hazel eyed, and comfortable everywhere she is taken. Patricia is 28 and 172 cm, auburn brown, clipped and careful and particular about the things that deserve it. Vanessa keeps to Notting Hill and long dinners booked a few days ahead; Patricia to Belgravia, two or three days' notice and a serious table down a mews.

The middle of the ten
Cindy is 26 and 168 cm, blonde waves and pale blue eyes, one colour from head to foot. Liana is 28 and 167 cm, chestnut brown worn straight, formal and dry and in absolutely no hurry about anything. Margo, 31 and 166 cm, wears dark brown dead straight and is direct with nothing softened around it. Cindy takes a later sitting on Sloane Square, Liana a large, loud room on Park Lane where quiet talk feels private, and Margo starts at six in Knightsbridge and does the whole evening on foot.

Colouring among the ten
Three are black or near black: Violetta, Karolina and Stacy. Five are brown, from Vanessa's sandy balayage and Liana's chestnut to the dark brown of Margo, Samanta and Lucy. Patricia is auburn brown, and Cindy is the only blonde, in long waves with blue eyes.

Choosing one over another
The frame is shared and very little else is. Violetta, Samanta and Patricia are the most exact, and suit a formal room or a guest who notices tailoring. Stacy and Karolina want something to look at before dinner. Cindy and Vanessa are the most relaxed, Cindy cool for ten minutes and very funny after, Vanessa easy from the first. Liana and Margo both run long, Liana after the second hour and Margo from an early start. Lucy is the quietest of the ten, and the one to ask for a gallery.
